Meet our Founder
Dr. Kameko Rae founded the Kameko Organization in 2022 after she could no longer ignore what the data was telling her: children were being trafficked, exploited, and lost at staggering rates, and the world was looking away.
As a professional fine artist who brings her craft into the lives of preschoolers across her community, Dr. Rae has spent her career in close proximity to childhood at its most creative and most vulnerable. That proximity made the crisis impossible to dismiss as someone else's problem.
Her name, Kameko, carries a meaning she has built her life around — God's child, the treasured child, the child meant for a long life — and she founded this organization on the conviction that every child, regardless of race, background, or circumstance, deserves to live inside that promise.
Through safe homes, preventative programs, and safe spaces for children to simply be children, the Kameko Organization exists to protect what should never have been at risk in the first place.
